Welcome to Café international! My name is Alan and I have been helping at the café since January 2007.I am married to Katherine and have two young boys called Joshua and Reuben. I work in Bath for a small firm of Accountants.
I was brought up in Bangladesh and India for the first 16 years of my life - I found it a bit strange settling back into life in the UK (no bargaining in the shops!), just as I imagine some of you will find. Come along to the café and make friends - it will be great to see you.
I am a Christian. I became a Christian at a young age. I could see that my parents knew God. They didn't just go to church or say prayers, but they involved God in all their decision making and it was evident to me that God was real. As I look back over my life so far, I can see that God has been with me in good times and bad, from my childhood in Bangladesh, to being taken hostage in Iraq as a teenager, to the birth of my children in England. I look forward to seeing you at the café soon!
